ME/CFS Graphics

What is ME/CFS?

ME/CFS is a serious long-term physical illness characterized by profound fatigue, cognitive dysfunction, sleep abnormalities, autonomic manifestations, pain, and other symptoms that are made worse by exertion of any sort

ME/CFS stands for Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

ME/CFS can severely impair patients’ ability to conduct their normal lives.

Approximately 3.3 million people in the U.S. have ME/CFS according to the CDC.

There is no cure or FDA-approved treatment.

Sufferers have waited over 40 years for the NIH and the CDC to fund research commensurate with the disease burden of ME/CFS.
